Why the first two speeds of the heat blower do not not work?

[Edit]

Answer

Probably the blowere relay, may be the switch or the blower motor however.

Answer

This is a bad resistor, very common problem on Malibus. It's located under the dashboard, behind the glove box. Here's a site from another forum with the specific directions:

Answer

I had the same problem with mine. I went to a junkyard, and bought a used part to fix it. The part behind the dash that you use to change the speeds of the blower is what needs changed. It is actually very easy, and about $30. It is worth doing, I was done before I left the junkyard (I wanted to make sure theirs worked).
