Why does a 1998 Malibu LS 3100 starts hard only when it's cold?

[Edit]

Answer

Just did the below for the same problem on the same car and year, with 70,000 miles on it:

-Replace spark plugs
-Began using Mobil1 10-30 fully synthetic motor oil after always using the cheaper kinds. You will see the difference in how it instantly flows in the cold I bet.

Is your battery strong? Might be getting weak.

Bet one of the above will make a difference for you. Hope so.
