I use 10-30 in mine. It is best to check you owners manule because wheather in the area you live uaually determins what viscosity you need to use. As far as brand, Vavoline, castrol, quaker are all good oils. I am a maintence mechanic and I use alot of oils and greeses that are made by chevron. As far as I am concerned I is the best and it is actully cheeper to buy. Good Luck - PS Make sure you DONT use Penzoil!! It is a populler name but it has sludged up more engines than I can count
