What is the difference between color and shade and tone?

Breakdown

Colour

Refers to the wavelength of the light, blue, green, etc etc

Shade

Is how light or dark the colour is, not to be confused with Tone

Tone

Refers to the the blueness of the blue, or the redness of the red, i.e. you can get pure blue, or a mixture of say blue and yellow, the more of one colour you add to the first, the more it alters the tone
