What is the difference between a college and a school - such as a college of business vs a school of business?

[Edit]

"College" usually refers to undergraduate work, following high school. Generally speaking when one talks of a School of Business or a Business School they are speaking of a graduate school, post undergraduate work which requires a separate application process and a standardized test, specifically the GMAT. However, most universities have colleges, or schools, that apply only to undergraduates, they are often categorized by major. For example, a biology major may be a member of the "College of Life Sciences".
