What do you do when your car's computer is not receiving the RPMs from your transmission?

[Edit]

Answer

You need to make sure you are getting a voltage signal from the vss(vehicle speed sensor)this will be located on the transmission near the output shaft. The computer reads a varying voltage signal provided by this sensor and feeds the converted information to the cluster(speedometer). You can test voltage using a digital multimeter with a min max function. You will need the vehicle in the air with a second person controlling speed and braking for safety.
