What causes the front brakes to creek on a 1999 chevy malibu?

[Edit]

Answer

The interface between the brake caliper piston and cast housing needs to be lubricated. If you pull off the caliper and spray silicone lube under the rubber boot around the caliper piston, this will eliminate the creaking sound you hear. I did this on my 1999 Malibu a year ago and hasn't made any noise since.
