Does the gas tank on a 1993 Nissan J30 need to be pulled out to replace the fuel pump?

[Edit]
Gas tank stays where it is...remove the covering in the trunk by taking out the plastic plugs that hold it to the frame in the trunk. After it's removed you can gain access...( it will be loacated on the top of the tank. I replaced mine and found out that the filter bag was so clogged that it eventually forced trash into the pump which caused it to seize. Check this out before you blow over $100.00 to fix the original one. If you do replace it, make sure you get the intake filter for the pump. My 1993 Infinti has 336,000 miles on it so far...and runs great !
