Opinions on God's existence:

  • Of course God is real. I know this for a fact. Time and time again he has proved his existence to me. He is with me no matter where I am. He has helped me through so many things. Without him I would be nothing. For those of you who don't believe in him, he does exist. He can help you through anything, and life is so much with him. He will never betray you, he will always be there for you. I tell you this, Jesus is coming back for his children, it does not matter what you people say about him not being real, because the fact is he is. It is going to happen, the earth will be destroyed, and those of us who has accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour will be taken up into heaven to live abundantly. Just wait and see.

  • Some people say that because there is no scientific proof of the existence of God, there is no God. I say that the absence OF proof is not proof that there is no God. It's just the absence of scientific proof. (hope this made sense)

  • According to the Bible, one must first have faith, then they can see. However, many demand to see first, then they will believe. Therefore, the Bible states, "Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen" and "live by faith not by sight." If indeed this were true, then demanding to see proof is no way to get proof. The book makes it clear that only the faithful inherit eternal life; this way, those who refuse to see by faith, will not see God.

  • Some believe, according to the Bible, that there is one true God. According to this, religion is also a distraction. It also states that God created Heaven, Earth and everything that is in them. He created man to be in a personal, loving relationship with Him. He sent His only Son, Jesus (who lived a perfect, blameless life), to bear the sin of the world because we're screw-ups. Human=sinner. It states that Jesus Christ bore all man's sin and died on the cross, and that God raised Him from the dead, and that all who believe this will find eternal life. Jesus stated, "If you have seen me have seen the Father."

  • One might say in order to answer this is for one to test it themselves. How does one experience God? Is God experienced with senses via taste, touch, sight, sound, or smell? Does one experience God supernaturally with spirit, soul, or mind? How can this test meet ones standards? How long should the test run? Can one shout out a question and then wait one minute? Does one have to be in a sacred building or at a sacred site in order to receive an answer? On the other extreme maybe the test should run for a period of years in which one could test God as a hobby. Challenges exist in testing no matter the method. However, it is important to do this without bias.

  • The Bible states that if one is really looking for God, then they will find him. This means looking with an open mind, not sceptically. When one starts looking, they usually address the question: Is life meaningless? One could also examine science. Astronomy: did the Universe explode out of nothing? Was there a big bang and everything just appeared? Where did it all come from? We are exactly 93 million miles from the sun, and Pluto is 5,763,920,000 km (38.5AU) from the earth. It would seem an odd occurrence that the earth is at the perfect spot where life can be sustained. Evolution: how did it just come to be? What set it in motion?

  • One may ask "How did everything come into existence?" or "Did the prophets reveal divine messages?" So, how can one know? According to the Bible, God made clear signs of his existence so that "no man would have an excuse" in the day of judgement.
The Bible also compares him to the wind; one can't see the wind, but they can see the effects of the wind.

  • One could just look around and see signs of creativity everywhere. All one needs to do is take a good look at the sky, the stars, the seas, the animals, the insects, and all the intricacies that make things work, and then they may find some knowledge.

  • If one really believed, they would not have to ask this question. If one has a question about whether or not God is real, then the Bible is a good place to start.

  • This question is an obviously controversy. One cannot see the creator, therefore many feel that he does not exist. Some say they "see" him after diligently searching for him. First, the Bible provides an answer to that question with simple logic. Hebrews 3:4 says,"Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but he that constructed all things is God." When observing a house, one wouldn't just imagine that it somehow appeared there over time by accidental occurrences. Someone with an intelligent mind designed it and built it for a purpose.
All of creation -- the Earth, the Universe, animals, plants, and humans -- are much more complicated than any house. Reasonably, the more complicated the design is, the more intelligent the creator must be.
The most accurate and complicated time piece in the universe, is the universe itself. All the planets, moons, and stars are in perfect alignment, in perfect order, so much so that scientists can predict years in advance where a particular celestial object will be on a given date, and at a given time. If one took all the pieces of a watch, put them in a can and shook them around in that can, those pieces would never assemble themselves into a working timepiece, even if someone shook them around in that can for millions of years. Someone with knowledge of how a watch works has to put those pieces together to make it operate properly.
The Bible in its entirety, testifies to being inspired by an intelligent creator. 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah said, "There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth..." (Is. 40:22) Interestingly, the Hebrew word translated "circle" literally means "sphere," so that some translations render that word as such. Isaiah wrote this at a time when the worldly "scientists" of the day thought that the Earth was flat. It would take science over 2000 years to catch up to the Bible when they discovered that the Earth was indeed round. How did Isaiah get his information?
Job 26:7 says,"He is ...Hanging the earth upon nothing." This eludes to the Earth has having no visible means of support. This was only understood thousands of years later when scientists discovered gravity. Again, the Bible appeared to be ahead of its time.
Ecclesiastes 1:7 explains accurately, but in very simple terms, the Earth's water cycle. The Jews were protected from diseases by sanitation laws provided by the creator, at a time when people had no knowledge of bacteria or micro-organisms that can cause disease. (Deuteronomy 23:13; Leviticus 11:27,28,32,33, 13:1-5; Numbers 19:1-13) This was at a time when the world's physicians used human excrement as a salve to treat open wounds! But the Israelites were protected from such dangerous practices.

  • According to the Bible, there is only one true God. It also states that he'll prove himself real if given a chance.

  • If one is really searching for God, they'll find Him. One shouldn't give up, because according to the Bible, he won't give up searching for those who will hear his voice. (note: scripture records this as "a still small voice" and not as a loud roaring thunder, nor is it a voice in ones head)

  • Of course God is real. If he wasn't real then how do you think we got here? Just look around: God is everywhere. He is sitting right next to you. If you are really asking this question then you really don't believe. To learn if God is real, read your Bible. That is the only thing that can tell you if he's real. You don't need others to tell you. In my opinion, yes God is in fact real. I love my God more then anything else in the world and I don't think I could love something that doesn't exist, so yes I feel in my heart that God is real indeed.

  • Not everyone believes that God exists. The belief or non-belief has no bearing, though, on His existence [or non-existence].

  • No, there is no God; all are alone. According to those who don't believe, there is nothing, and at death, they believe there is nothing.

  • Some will say that no one knows, although a lot of people think they know. If an all powerful being wanted to conceal its existence, it could easily do so. Some don't believe it's important, while others believe it is the most important aspect of life.

  • Some say it's an individual determination.

  • It could depend on what one's understanding of "real" is. Some say what is real must be supported by empirical evidence. So by this, some conclude that God is not real, until such time that verifiable facts are presented to them.

  • Some find it hard to believe that there is truly a greater, more divine being that created every living thing. He or she may possibly be there; most feel they need to see something to truly believe. Others choose to believe that "God" is a miracle worker, while some deny it.

  • We'll all find out one day! Maybe, maybe not.

  • Without empirical proof, then it's all hypothesis, conjectures and/or wishful thinking.

  • Yes, hundreds, if not thousands. Of course, believers of these gods asserts that theirs is the true god... (however, the Bible is one of the only documents where the God actually says, "I am a jealous God" and "I am the one true God, judge, and creator of all")

  • No, it is just a myth.

  • One believes there is a God, the other there is no God. But some just assume there is some supernatural power which maintains all of the universe.

  • It depends on what your understanding of "real" is. My understanding of what's "real" is, it must be supported by empirical evidence. So by this, I would say at present that God is not real, until such time that verifiable facts are presented to me.

  • It depends on your background, beliefs, family, and environment. In all likelihood, if you were raised in a Catholic family, then you will indeed believe in "God". Some are lead to question his or her reality by moments in their past or even in the present. Some may find it hard to believe that there is truly a greater, more divine being controlling every living thing. I do not believe. I believe he or she may possibly be there, but I will need to see something to truly believe. I do not believe "God" is a miracle worker, as I have not had a miraculous experience.

  • You'll know when you die.

  • No, for me God isn't real. God for me doesn't exist and I don't miss his existence, nor do I need it. But it is nice to know God gives some comfort to some honest people. It is a shame God is used in a wrong way for the obsessive believers.

  • Is there a god? If you mean a real, present God, the answer is "No". If you mean does a god live in the minds of people, there are many gods - the Christian God, Hindu gods and many others. But none of these is real, in that they would all cease to exist without people to believe in them.

  • No, God does not exist as a "higher power"/person. People cannot comprehend everything around them so they need to invent stories. In fact, Religion was created to control humanity, to have some "rules". The sad truth is that Religion causes a lot of problems and hassle all around the world -- Just look at terrorists, people that kill others cause "God told them to do so". Religion caused so many terrorist attacks, even wars... Would God, if he really existed, just sit back, watch, eat some popcorn and let this happen? Come on.. People need to get some grip. You need to believe in science and not some fictional stories about paradise, hell, dead people going to heaven. Cause that's all just wishful thinking. Have a look at the reality.

  • Circular Reasoning
    Q. Is there a God?
    Ans. Yes there's a God.
Q.How do you know that there's a God?
Ans. Because the Bible tells it so.
    Q. How do you know the Bible is infallible?
Ans. Because the Bible is the word of God.

  • I would say that no one knows, although a lot of people think they know. I am personally leaning toward believing that there "ain't no such animal" but if an almighty being wanted to conceal its existence from I am certain that it could. I may never know, and although that bothered me a few years ago it doesn't seem that important now.

  • In my opinion, this is an individual determination. If we get into dictating or inducing what our individual belief's are to others we run then risk of producing even more lip professors and hypocrites. Allow whatever "God" you believe in to work naturally and at his/her own pace to help the person decide this for themselves. Meanwhile, many around the world live and contribute greatly to the world at large without any belief in God and/or religion as a whole.

  • "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." -- Thomas Jefferson quoted by Gerard Straub in "Salvation for Sale."

  • If you mean the God in the Bible who kills His own creation, in my opinion, There's none. But if you mean a life giving energy Cosmic Force, in my opinion, yes.

  • No, for me God isn't real. God for me doesn't exist and I don't miss his existence, nor do I need it. But it is nice to know God gives some comfort to some honest people. It is a shame God is used in a wrong way for the obsessive believers.. isn't it?

  • No, it is not real, the real thing is that there is no god, there is no heaven, no hell, no angels, no demons. We are alone, BIG DEAL, who cares. Just deal with that, accept it and enjoy your life, when you die, you'll feel nothing, you'll be nothing.

  • God is not real. We evolved from apes, and there is scientific proof. Prove that your so called "God" made the stars, moon, earth, universe, PS3's.. and so on, so forth.

  • Just because the Bible says that there is a GOD does not make it true. A person wrote the Bible. Someone out there wrote the Bible, so who's to say that they didn't just make it up? While I am not saying that this is true, it is a question that I have all ways wondered. I will probably burn in hell for this, oh well. People tend to make their own explanations for things they don't understand, like the fact that the earth is not flat, and it is not in the center of the universe like we thought before. And the people that where smart enough to figure it out where scorned.

  • Yes, He is real.

  • He's really nothing more than a mythical character in a fairy tale.

  • This is an argument comparable to any difference in thought. For instance:"Is there a mouse in the house?" One could say he has sufficient evidence that there is indeed, NO mouse in the house; on the contrary, another could also say he has sufficient evidence that there is indeed a mouse in the house. Herein lies the dilemma:One would need to have all knowledge about the house in order to conclusively say, "There is no mouse in the house." He would even need blue prints. This person would have to know every crack and crevice, every line of plumbing, and every possible passage that could allow a mouse to remain hidden. In the end, it would take extensive research or even tearing the house apart just to conclude that there was absolutely no way that there is a mouse in the house. This person needs all knowledge about the house and surrounding area first, and even then, it would be hard to absolutely conclude -- especially if there is even a little forensic evidence to show that a mouse could have been there (anything such as droppings, fur, chewed up wires, etc.) On the other hand, the person claiming, "Yes, there is a mouse in the house." would only need a little evidence, such as holes that could lead passages to where the mouse travels, or perhaps seeds that look chewed up, or lint that shows the residual parts of what could make up its residence. Also, this person claims, "The owner of the house even left a note saying, 'There is a mouse in the house.' So they are even more convinced of this statement. With this, the one demanding evidence looks foolish to say, "How do you know the person who wrote that had any knowledge?" Thus, the arguing continues. Hopefully, one can see the correlation here.In the end, the argument isn't presentable for the one claiming, "There is no mouse in the house" because enough research hasn't been accomplished to make a conclusion as decisive and as absolute as that. Conclusion: No one knows every crack and crevice of the universe, or even this world; no one can claim "There is no God" without showing blatant incompetence. Each argument has its reasons, but the one with hope is claiming reason to believe there is a God, because they see enough evidence of creativity (even just bits and pieces) to acknowledge that there is a good possibility that "Someone" created it. They also understand that, "This Someone must not expect me to know everything in order to believe." The one claiming, "There is no God" has not acknowledged the possibility, and thus renders himself ignorant by claiming there is absolutely no way that God could have done anything; therefore, the middle ground is, "Yes, there is a possibility" and "Yes, it's impossible for anyone to absolutely conclude." However, those who believe are believing on what they sometimes call, "Blind faith." On the contrary, those who do not believe are not believing based on their "Great and insurmountable knowledge" about the world and the universe. It's good to know where both sides are coming from before seeing the argument.

  • Probably no one will ever be able to answer this question. It's in the nature of faith to persist while there is no evidence. The moment a person reaches certainty regarding any matter in the realm of faith, the faith itself becomes worthless, or the certainty has to be viewed with some scepticism. If there is a deity, it will not be one of the many we have created for our own political and ideological gains.

  • To define anything requires that faith (assumed belief) in something be present. Perception of evidence requires faith in the certainty of such evidence. The limitations of our senses and perceptions of extra-sensory methods (e.g. infrared scopics, decay measurement equipment) restricts any comprehension of certainty. If you have faith that a deity exists while I have faith that no deity exists truth is present in the form of perception of will.

  • God is real!! How else would you be here? There's the big boom or bam or evolution, but what are the odds of that happening. and you might think "Oh but if there was God, why did this happen?" Really its just him either testing you or trying to get closer to you. he wants to know you, and love you and if you let him then great things will happen, just remember to thank him even for the bad stuff.I know its hard but all things happen for a reason! God has it planned out for you.

  • Whether God is real is a matter of faith. Some say that he is most certainly real, while others say 'no' he is not real. I have read the entire Bible, most parts of it several times, and have sought explanations for everything that could be proof of a God. When carefully studied, the Bible becomes proof that God does not exist rather than proof that he does. I have familiarised myself with events of the biblical period and the views of others, both for and against the existence of God. I can say that he does not exist.

  • Science has no proof of the existence of God, although many question whether science encompasses the totality of 'reality'. Religious belief is something which you are entirely free to explore yourself, as is everyone else. First you should ask yourself what you think 'God' might be.

  • In my opinion, no. However, there are many different viewpoints and there is no proof as to whether a god does or does not exist.

  • Yes God is real. He is everywhere at once. He is as real as the wind. Just because you can't see wind doesn't mean it doesn't exist, right? If you are really searching for God, you'll find Him. Don't give up because He hasn't given up on you.

  • I would say that no one knows, although a lot of people think they know. I am personally leaning toward believing that there "ain't no such animal" but if an almighty being wanted to conceal its existence from I am certain that it could. • "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson quoted by Gerard Straub in "Salvation for Sale"

  • Of course God is real. If we exist, then who created us? Look around you, at the sky, stars, sea, animals, insects -- who made all that?

  • It depends on what your understanding of "real" is. My understanding of what's "real" is, it must be supported by empirical evidence. So by this, I would say at present that God is not real, until such time that verifiable facts are presented to me.

  • Of course God is real. if he wasn't real then how do you think we got here. just look around god is everywhere. he is sitting right next to you. if your really asking this question then you really don't believe. if you really believed you would not have to ask this question. if you have a question about if god id real then you need to read your bible. that is the only thing that can tell you if he's real. so I tell you right now to get off the computer and start reading your Bible you don't need these people to you something they have no idea about. The bible is the beginning of your Christian walk. but in my opinion is yes God is in fact real in my book. I love my god more then anything else in the world and I don't think I could love something that don't exist so yes I feel in my heart that god is real indeed.

  • In all reality, it depends on your background, beliefs, family, and environment. In all likelihood, if you were raised in a Catholic family, then you will indeed believe in "God". Some are lead to question his or her reality by moments in their past or even in the present. Some may find it hard to believe that there is truly a greater, more divine being controlling every living thing. I do not believe. • No. We evolved from apes, and there is scientific proof.

  • Yes, I believe that he created the Earth and gave his son, who was crucified and rose from the dead, to save us from our sins
  • Yes. God is very real. I have heard him speak to me.

  • Without empirical proof, then it's all hypothesis, conjectures and/or wishful thinking.

  • The belief or non-belief has no bearing, though, on His existence.

  • It doesn't matter whether you believe or not, he does not exist.

  • So, it all really depends on your belief. Christians, or perhaps some other religions will definitely say 'yes'. Others may need to think about what proves it, and whether the evidence is good enough.

  • Science has no proof of the existence of God, although many question whether science encompasses the totality of 'reality'. Religious belief is something which you are entirely free to explore yourself, as is everyone else. First you should ask yourself what you think 'God' might be.

  • Yes, God is real. However, some people don't believe in him. To them, he isn't.

  • Of course not, if "God" is real, then so are unicorns and Santa Claus. There is no evidence to support "God". If you do believe in "God" then you are really gullible.
  • What do you mean by "God"? For the question "Does God exist?" to be intelligible, its terms must be defined. Maybe you mean the God of the Bible. But there are many Gods in the Bible, from YHWH to Elohim (a plural, and so, properly, "the gods") to Baal to one's own belly. So let's pick one. Let's ask ourselves, "Does the God worshiped by the prophet Elijah exist?" I choose that one because his existence can be tested scientifically, and Elijah himself has told us how, in I Kings, chapter 18. In view of as large an audience as you can gather, cut up some beef, put it on a pile of wood, and don't set fire to the wood, but instead drench the whole affair in lots and lots of water. Get everything good and wet. Then call on God (Elijah's God) to set the hamburger on fire. If he does it, then you know he exists. If he doesn't, then his prophets and worshippers merit all the abuse and mockery Elijah directed at the prophets of Baal. DO try this at home, kids! And tell us what happened.
