No, you don't have to switch plans. you keep the same VOICE and text plans you had before. However, if you didn't have an internet plan in your previous telephone (call it blackberry or any others) you will have to add to your plan the Internet and data for 20 dlls a month (this is for unlimited used wihin USA) This plan can be cancelled, but hey whats the point of having an Iphone and not be able to use the internet on it?
